ARTICLE – LEADERSHIP AND DIRECTION:

A leader can be a manager but every manager cannot be a leader because of the traits and excellence prolonging in the personality of a leader which is rare in every other. A leader is the one who gets the work done through fair means and directs the followers and subordinates to get influence through his sound personality. Leadership is the process of delegating and directing the attributes and behaviour of others towards the accomplishment of certain tasks and objectives. Directing refers causing individual to act in a certain way or to find the particular course which is supposed to be done fairly.

It is quite obvious that leadership and direction go in hand to hand as it is essential for the leaders to direct people under their dynamic and effective leadership because a leader is the one whom every one relates the work with and is therefore considered as the role model so it is vital that a leader must be a good director in every aspect, could it be a social or business scenario.

 A good leader is always a perfect manager and a perfect director since that leader possesses an essence of sound management and proper direction skills. Leadership and direction inculcated by a leader effects the very side of every aspect since the direction of the leader is concerned to an extreme extent of courage in which the direction of the leader focuses on the perseverance to accomplish a goal, regardless of the seemingly insurmountable obstacles and hindrances. The direction and leadership of a leader comprises of a quality which is being emotional intelligent, that no matter at what stage the organization is under whatsoever calamities, the way the leader faces those stress through displaying confidence and calmness is essential. Those leaders are more concerned with the emotional intelligence rather than the eye Q because the business world is facing more and more obstacles with the passage of time and there, important is to face and prick out the solution effectively through the intelligent bent of emotions rather than to display aggression.

Shewhart Cycle:

An effective leadership and direction undergoes a cycle which consists of:

  • Plan

  • Do

  • Check

  • Act

As the leaders, directs the plan first, in order to achieve that plan they follow intense struggle by deciding what strategies are supposed to take course. Once the strategy is implemented they keep a proper check and balance by gathering a proper feedback that whether the implemented strategy is fair enough or not. Then finally they act according to the situation.
